Happy Birthday Timmy

On Sunday Feb 24th, we celebrated Timmy's 3rd Birthday!  Grandma and Grandpa were here along with Aunt Leslie, Uncle Steve, Aunt Jill and Uncle John.  Aunt Jen couldn't make it because she had to work at the last minute (you were missed!).  Anyway, Timmy wanted a train party so we went to Choo Choo Johnnies for our cake and ice cream (we had lunch at the house).  Timmy did much better with the candle this year, but it is still a work in progress.

Before we went to Choo Choo Johnnies, Timmy opened up his gifts.  He received a Lightning McQueen pillow and a custom made quilt from Aunt Leslie and Uncle Steve.  He received some cool clothes from Grandma and Grandpa as well as a WALL-E lamp (which by the way works great as a nightlight). By this time, Benny speaks up and says, "Hey, where are the toys?"  Aunt Jill comes through with the Duplo Lego Farm.  I have to say that both boys play with those Legos everyday. 

Benny's Birthday (Last one in Washington State)

Benny celebrated his 5th birthday with an Angry Birds party.  We were fortunate that a lot of his friends could be there since it was his last birthday in Washington State.

I cannot believe that my baby boy is two! Grandma and Grandpa Anderson came to help celebrate Timmy's birthday. We did many great things. We went into Seattle to ride the Monorail and visit the Aquarium. We went to the mall to play and visited the LeMay Car Museum.

Grandma's Birthday!

At the beginning of April we traveled to Illinois to help Grandma Anderson celebrate her 70th birthday. We had an open house at the church. A lot of people came. The boys had fun. Timmy loved the balloons. Here is Grandma with her cake.

Thomas, Thomas and more Thomas

"Their two, their four, their six, their eight. Shunting trucks and hauling freight. Red and green and brown and blue. Their the really useful crew." Anybody who has a little one who loves Thomas & Friends probably now has that song stuck in their heads. At least I won't be the only one. It is Thomas all the time around here. Benny is really getting into Thomas the Tank Engine. I often hear him replaying scenes from the Thomas shows he has watched (thank you Netflix). New words have crept into his vocabulary. His train cars have to be coupled and uncoupled and at times they are cross. It is fun to watch his imagination grow. So if you are wondering what to get him for his birthday, he has a few requests. He would like the "Shake, Shake Bridge" from Misty Island Rescue as well as the "Take-a-long Knapford Station". Of course he would also like to add to his engine collection with motorized Gordon, James, Edward and the Logging Locos Bash, Dash and Ferdinand. We have the trackmasters series so extra track or train cars would be appreciated too.

Happy Birthday Timmy!

We celebrated Timmy's 1st birthday early. His good friend Zachary is exactly one month older than Timmy so Zachary's mother (Carina) and I decided to have a joint party. It was a jungle theme. Carina made the boys onesies. It had the number 1 on the front and B-Day Boy on the back.

I don't know if it was because he was tired or what, but Timmy did not want anything to do with his cake.

Yes, my boys have blue hair. It is a tradition of Carina's so I thought it would be fun. By the end of the night, the boys had gray hair.
While Timmy and Zachary had their individual cakes, here was the cake for everyone else.

We had a great time and the boys had fun as well. Unfortunately, Timmy seems to be afraid of cakes in any form. We had cupcakes on his actual birthday. We sang to him, didn't light any candles and he still freaked out. I tried holding him, but that didn't work. He wouldn't let me eat my cupcake. Oh well, hopefully next year will be better.

Benny's Birthday Party

This year Benny had a Thomas the Tank Engine party (no surprise there). I took it upon myself to make his birthday cake. I am amazed at how it turned out. It only took about 3 hours to decorate. The best part is that Benny really liked it.

Yes! It is a solid cake. I had to get a special cake pan in order to do it. Here's hoping Timmy likes Thomas too.

Here's the birthday boy! Aunt Jill, you might notice that he is wearing the shirt you got for him. It is a little big, but he didn't care.

I had also made cupcakes in case the cake was not big enough. Benny had a cupcake. Do you think he liked it?
All in all, I think he had a great time at his party. He had a lot of friends to play with. Next year, I think I will only invite 4 of his close friends to keep it less hectic. At least the parties are kind of spaced out for us. Timmy is in February, Brad is in March, Benny is in July and I am in November. Then, we have fun at Christmas and it starts all over again.

Update! Update! Update!

We have been very busy the last few weeks as seen by all the posts I have done. Life is not boring here. Between trying to sell our house, potty training Benny and watching Timmy grow and explore, we have been having fun. We went up Mt. Rainier not once but twice in one week (thank you cousin Amy, it was fun). Now Benny asks to "go up the mountain" almost every day. Benny and Timmy's cousin Amy came for a visit. We are busy with church activities and play dates for Benny. Everyone here is somewhat healthy (just allergies). Enjoy all the pictures and videos.

Oh, Benny told me the other day that he wanted a Thomas the Tank Engine birthday party. He also wanted Gordon, Toby and Edward for this birthday. So, if anyone wants ideas for what to get him for his birthday, anything Thomas would work. We have the track masters system so more track would be helpful. Also puzzles and books would be good ideas for gifts as well.

Benny's 2nd Birthday

For Benny's 2nd Birthday we had a Thomas the Tank Engine theme because of his love of trains. Here he is playing with his Thomas train set. It is motorized and has quickly become his favorite toy. We did a cupcake "cake" this year and it worked out great. As you can see, Benny ate more of the icing than cupcake. No surprise there!

We also let the kids have icecream cones. This is Benny's first time with a cone. He has had ice crean but only in a bowl. He ate as much of the ice cream he could reach. He was not that interested in eating the cone.

He had a lot of fun openning up his presents. He did very well at ripping off the paper. Here he is with his friend from church. He is looking at the big book of trucks that she gave him.

Last but not least is the cupcake "cake". As you can see, it was very cute. The Thomas toy can actually be played with. In fact, I think it is in his bed.

Overall, I think he had fun at his party. Not too many people were there and that was okay by me. Benny had friends from church come as well as some of mommy and daddy's friends. Benny really liked all of his gifts.

Benny's Birthday

Benny did many wonderful things on his birthday. He went to the Woodland Park Zoo, the Seattle Aquarium, took a Harbor Cruise and went up to the top of the Space Needle. He had the privilege of doing all these things with Aunt Leslie and Uncle Steve. Here he is with daddy at the aquarium. They are looking at an octopus.

Aunt Leslie & Uncle Steve's Visit

Benny had a great time with his Aunt Leslie and Uncle Steve. He went to many different places. He went to Westport to see the ocean.








On his birthday he went to the Woodland Park Zoo. Aunt Leslie took him to see some neat birds.










Also on his birthday, he had fun riding on Uncle Steve's shoulders at the Seattle Aquarium.
