3 Year Checkup

Today was Benny's 3 year old checkup. He did very well. He was a little shy around the doctor, but soon warmed up to him. He had to get a booster shot for the flu and he handled it as well as could be expected. His official measurements are as follows: Height: 37 inches (just under 50th percentile), Weight: 27.2 (fully clothed except shoes, this puts him in the 10th percentile.). Doctor recommended whole milk and foods high in fat and calories, especially since he is so active. He is also going to start taking a children's vitamin (because he is a picky eater). Other than the low weight, he is a healthy and active soon to be 3 year old. At his next checkup (when he turns 4), he will be getting his going to school shots. Not looking forward to that day :) . Timmy has his 6 month checkup next month.

Rolly Polly Timmy

Nowadays Timmy likes to roll onto his side when he is lying on his back. Sometimes he will even roll all the way over onto his stomach. He will be crawling before we know it.

Boo-Boo

As you can see from the photos, our Bonneville has a boo-boo. Last week, Brad was stopped for construction (not to far from home) when someone rear-ended him. The car ended up being totaled. Brad has physical therapy 3 times a week for at least 3 to 4 months or until he is back to normal. He injured his back and shoulder. With the money we received for our old car, we went out and bought a 97 Pontiac Transport (pictures to come later).

Timmy's first solid food

Here is a video of Timmy's first bite of rice cereal. He has had more since then, but he would rather have his bottle.

Post 4th of July

This is a little late, but here is a video of Benny doing his flag dance. He really liked the 4th of July until the fireworks started going off in the neighborhood. He didn't like the loud noises.

Benny and his letters

Here is Benny working with his letters.

Cute Boys

The Falls

On our way back from Newport, we decided to take the long way home. We went home via I-84 which goes along the Columbia River Gorge. Although this highway runs by a lot of waterfalls, we stopped at this one because it was very easy to get to.

Here is a view from the bridge.
Benny admiring the falls.
Here is the falls. See the bridge? We hiked/walked up there. Only 2 tenths of a mile to the bridge but a full mile to the top.
Mommy and Timmy getting ready for our walk to the falls.

Oregon Aquarium

During our mini-vacation to Newport, OR, we visited the Oregon Aquarium. Benny was able to touch a starfish which he said felt bumpy. Here is Benny and daddy about to be eaten by a mega shark.
Benny saw some kids trying to catch the fish, so he tried to do it too.
There was a small play area at the aquarium. Benny had fun climbing on all the animals. (This picture is for you Aunt Jill :) )

Newport

The week before the 4th of July, we took a mini-vacation to Newport, Oregon. We had two really nice days while we were there.

We went to Florence, Oregon and found this cool restaurant. Benny was excited that he got to eat his lunch in a car.
Just north of Florence, OR is the Sea Lion Caves. Benny wasn't very impressed. He didn't like the noise, but enjoyed the elevator ride both down and up.
Benny loved the beach. He had fun looking for shells and flying a kite with Daddy.
