I just have to share this. It is too cute. Last Sunday Brad, Benny and I went to church as usual. When we dropped Benny off at the nursery, he was once again excited to be there. He ran in and immediately went over to where they have some magnetic letters. As he took the letters off one by one, he was saying a sound like he was trying to say the letter sounds. I just stood there in awe. We do not have any of those letters at home. He does have an alphabet book that he likes to look at. When he does look at it, we name the letters for him.
I have noticed that he has what I would call beginnings of words. He has a word for juice, shoe, fish, please, cheese (these two sound very similar), and block. When asked he can identify his nose, mouth, tummy, toes and ear.
His vocabulary seems to grow every day. What a smart boy.

Look what I can do!
We found this cute little step stool when we went antiquing many months ago. Benny is putting it to good use. He loves to climb up into the chair and look at books.
Go Steelers!
First of all, I want to congratulate the Pittsburgh Steelers on their Super Bowl Victory! Yeah! Go Steelers! In honor of the occasion, my mother (who was born and raised in Pittsburgh) sent Benny his very own Terrible Towel. As you can see it is the toddler version. She also bought him an AFC Conference Championship t-shirt. She had bought these things before the Steelers won the Super Bowl. Hopefully we can get him a Super Bowl shirt. I myself was born in Pittsburgh so I have no problem with this. Brad however is a Philadelphia Eagles fan and isn't as excited about Benny's terrible towel and shirt as I am.
Update
Hey, it has been a few weeks since I updated this, so I will fill everyone in on what has been going on around here. First of all, Brad did not get the support specialist position at work. He did however, have an interview last Monday (Feb 9th) for the supervisory position. We will know by as early as Monday Feb 25th. Brad has been getting a lot of flack at work for wanting to be a supervisor. He is just doing what is best for him and us as a family.
Benny seems to have another cold. This time I think it is a real cold and not side effects of his molars coming in. What gives me this idea is the fact that he is running a slight fever and really not acting himself.
I am doing okay. Busy with work at Sylvan. I think I might be coming down with Benny's cold though. I have been sneezing a lot today.
On a positive note, we have been able to attend church pretty regularly. There is a Baptist church within 10 minutes of our house. Benny has really liked playing in the nursery. Last Sunday Brad had to work, so Benny and I went with out him. When I dropped Benny off at the nursery, he spit out his binky and went right on in and didn't look back. The nursery workers were quite surprised. Benny is in a class with other 18 month old kids on up to 3 years old. Hopefully this will help increase his vocabulary.
