6th month checkup
Benny did great at his doctor's appointment today. He is in the 90th percentile in height at a little over 28 inches long. His weight is in the 75th percentile at 18 lbs 7oz. And, his head circumference is 17 1/4 inches which puts him in the 50th percentile. He had 5 shots. Four were boosters and one was a flu shot. He only cried for a few minutes. What a trooper! He was showing off by rolling from his back to his stomach while on the examination table. He doesn't stay on his back very long anymore. The doctor recommended baby proofing the house. Good thing we looked at safety gates yesterday. His next appointment is at 9 months.

What a surprise!
Boy, did I get a surprise when I came home from work. Benny was chewing on my finger when I felt something sharp on his bottom gum. He has a tooth trying to break through! His first tooth! We are so excited. This explains why he has been extra fussy lately and why he was running a slight temperature yesterday! This Thursday he has his 6 month checkup. My guess is that he will be at least 18 pounds and 28 inches long. I will let you know then.

My little eater!
Benny has decided that he doesn't want plain cereal anymore. For the last two days everytime I gave him cereal he would eat a few spoons full and then begin to fuss. This morning was no different so I gave him a jar of applesauce instead and he ate it with out fussing. He also likes to play with the spoon.

Back to Work!
Well, I have officially returned to work. I will be working Saturdays for a while at Sylvan. So far Brad has been able to change his schedule so he can take care of Benny in the morning and then drive him up to me in the afternoon. We swap cars and Brad goes to work and Benny and I go home. We will see how long this lasts. I am also studying to be a medical claims and billing specialist. I am taking an online course which I hope to complete in less than four months. I decided to do this because it would allow me to work from home and supplement our income without having to spend money on daycare. Other than that, we are all doing fine.

Tummy Time
Tummy time is becoming more exciting for Benny. He is learning to roll from his tummy to his back. He sometimes rolls from his back to his tummy. Here is a video of tummy time.

Video
Here is my attempt to post a video. I took this a few days ago. If it works, I will upload more. Our little Benny is going through a spitting phase that is just too cute (unless I am trying to feed him cereal.)

Applesauce
Today Benny ate a whole jar of applesauce. He really seemed to like it. Usually I am lucky to get him to eat 2 tbs of rice cereal. So far he has tried bananas, peaches and applesauce. He liked the bananas but the peaches weren't that great a hit. We will try them later.
